Day of Memories…

on November 15, 2011

Today is a tough day for me, 3 years ago today my dad passed away suddenly. I had to work today so I spent the day keeping myself busy, so I wouldn’t be upset at work. Now I’m home, the kids are tucked in bed, Amazon is on her way home, and it’s quiet. So I’m taking a minute to remember my dad, the good memories, the funny memories, and letting myself miss him.

I’m so sorry. I lost my dad three years ago as well. It’s impossibly hard, huh? I’m glad you’re letting yourself miss him. Sometimes I’m too scared to let myself do that, but it’s such a good thing. Sending you lots of love and hugs.

  2. One Jewish tradition I really like is lighting a candle on the death anniversary of a loved one–you can get candles that will burn for 24 hours to make the date while you do exactly that kind of reminiscing and remembering that is so important. Lots of hugs for getting through a tough day!
